black friday sale

The Black Friday Malta website launched earlier this month has attracted singificant interest from businesses and shoppers alike, with the latter eligible for a daily giveaway from a variety of outlets.

Speaking to BusinessNow.mt, Chamber of SMEs CEO Abigail Agius Mamo explains that the platform is open to all businesses.

“All any business needs to do is login and put up their promotional materials, all on their own – they do not need anything from our end.”

Shoppers can also register with the website, putting themselves in the running for a daily draw of vouchers from the businesses participating in the promotion.

Recent winners, viewable on the website itself, have won vouchers for everything from jewellery to wines, furniture to restaurants.

“Basically we seek to create momentum for local businesses during Black Friday in our aim to incentivise shopping local,” continues Ms Agius Mamo. “There are many benefits to shop local and we seek to increase the benefits through this website.”

Visitors to the site can learn about the offers available from Maltese outlets.

“Apart from being able to have visibility of the offers visitors also learn whether they can get them online and if there is delivery.”

The Chamber of SMEs started the initiative in 2018, with this year marking the launch of the online platform to add further value to participating businesses.

“Every year, Black Friday marks a very important period for shopping, an important milestone for businesses. Given that this will be the first proper one after COVID, it is a very important one,” concluded Ms Agius Mamo.
