The main road leading to the airport will have further diversions over the next two nights as work continues on the new flyovers planned for the Kirkop Tunnels intersection.

The northbound carriageway of L-Ewwel Titjira Road, from Kirkop Tunnels to the Malta International Airport roundabout will be closed between 7pm and 6am on Tuesday 2nd August and Wednesday 3rd August.

An alternative route will be provided through Hal Farrug Road.

The works involve the lifting in place of the first steel structures of the new flyover.

Passengers heading to the airport for holiday or business travel are advised to plan ahead to avoid disruption, at a time when travel has become hectic due to a shortage of workers in most leading European airports.
