Km Malta Airlines

Ahead of the European Parliament and local council elections to be held in Malta on 8th June 2024, KM Malta Airlines has announced that it will be operating extra flights and offer special election fares for qualifying eligible persons. This is being done so that they can return to Malta to participate in the voting.

Travel will be permitted during the period starting 27th May until 14th June, with the first return date out of Malta being 1st June 2024 and the final inbound travel date into Malta being 8th June 2024.

The airline stated that bookings will be open for sale from 2nd May to 8th June, and reservations can only be made through KM Malta Airlines’ Call Centre number +356 21418118 between 8am and 4.30pm from Monday to Sunday. It added that bookings are subject to availability.

Persons eligible to vote whose name appears in the Electoral Registers published by the Electoral Commission, including their direct dependants, such as a spouse, or a child or stepchild under the age of 18, will be able to avail of a special election fare of €90 return. This includes all taxes and charges. Infants who have not reached their second birthday may travel for a fee of €9 inclusive.

Travel will be permitted on KM Malta Airlines operated flights only and all travel needs to take place into and out of the same city, the airline said. Tickets will be non-refundable and no change in travel dates is permitted.

It added that those eligible voters who qualify for these special fares and have already made an alternative booking with the airline for travel between 27th May to 14th June, may either request a full refund of their paid ticket, or change their tickets to different dates of travel at no charge but subject to the payment of any difference in fare.

Additionally, KM Malta Airlines also announced that it will be operating extra flights to Brussels and London Gatwick during the election period.

On 5th June, there will be additional flights connecting Malta and Gatwick during both the morning and evening, while there will also be an additional connection with Brussels during the morning of 6th June. For 9th June, there will be another evening connection with Gatwick. On 10th June there will be a morning connection with Brussels, as well as an evening connection with Gatwick.
