On Monday (today), Melita Business announced that it has exceeded 50 per cent share of the business fixed telephony market for the first time.

This figure, released by the Malta Communications authority (MCA), “reflects a growing demand from small and micro businesses for the Cloud PBX and SIP services offered by Melita Business.”

As these services are cloud-based, minimal onsite equipment is required meaning lower cost, and faster set-up.

The Cloud PBX service is aimed at smaller businesses as it provides them with the key PBX features without any of the complexities. It is also centrally hosted and managed by Melita’s engineering team ensuring high levels of availability and uptime.

On the other hand, Melita explained that the new SIP services are enabling businesses and independent system integrators to onboard fixed telephony on a multitude of other PBX brands whether on-premises, or in the cloud.

This has also enabled companies to easily integrate their systems with online video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams as well as providing seamless links to employees’ mobile phones.

Chief Officer Business and IoT at Melita, Malcolm Briffa said that reaching such a milestone is “fruit of the investment in new technology, skilled people and a commitment to quality service.”

“Our new services and support for system integrators has fuelled demand from new clients and is driving growth in the sector,” he concluded.
