HSBC Malta has issued a warning to their customers that scam SMS messages are being sent to customers from what appear to be the bank, containing a link urging customers to provide personal details.
The bank warned customers not to enter personal information, or engage in any way with messages they are not sure are genuine.
Instead, they ask customers to delete suspicious messages.
They reiterate, “HSBC will never ask you for your personal information via SMS or SMS you a link to our login page”.
It is the latest bank to have to warn customers against a phishing scheme in recent weeks: Central Bank of Malta was also forced to warn customers against similar messages.
