Toyota Malta has launched Toyota Warranty, a revolutionary service giving any Toyota owner up to 10 years warranty on a new car as well as in the case of second hand Toyota cars, up until the car is 10 years old.

This is a first for the Maltese market, Debono Group – the parent company behind Toyota Malta – proudly exclaimed. “With that kind of peace of mind, one can focus on what matters most and with Toyota Warranty, one can relax, get in and drive safe in the knowledge that the car is taken care of along the way.”

Every new Toyota car comes with a five year warranty, after which every new service activates another 12 months/15,000 km additional warranty, with every qualifying service until the car is 10 years/160,000km old. All Toyota models qualify as long the age and mileage criteria are met, including passenger cars, light commercial vans and pick-ups. The protection also applies to every type of powertrain, from market-leading hybrids and conventional petrol and diesel models to advanced new battery electric vehicles.

Toyota Warranty applies for every Toyota, including Japan and UK imports like the Toyota Vitz, Toyota Passo, Toyota Aqua, Auris or C-HR.  If the vehicle is less than 10 years old or clocked 160,000km in terms of mileage, the vehicle can get the warranty provided through an initial manufacturer warranty from the vehicle’s registration date was expired followed by an additional 12 months/15,000km warranty with every qualifying service. Second, third and even fourth-hand vehicles traded privately or from other outlets are eligible.

Benefits to the customer include the enhancement of the vehicle’s value by the presence of a manufacturer warranty. Toyota warranty covers the same parts and labour as the five-year manufacturer’s warranty provided on new Toyota vehicles. It does not include wear and tear items, bodywork, paint, interior trims and maintenance parts. A vehicle health check is part of the service package, which includes all mechanical and electronic parts, which helps potential problems to be detected at an early stage. Any existing defects present at the time of service are excluded from the warranty.

Work is carried out by qualified Toyota technicians, using Toyota-approved parts. Toyota’s customer-focused approach includes making servicing as convenient as possible, with options for collection and delivery of vehicle, free transport and while-you-wait servicing options. Customers can also benefit from our Hybrid Battery Extended Cover which ensures an additional cover for a total of 15 years.

Cristian Attard, senior operations manager at Michael Debono Ltd, local importers of Toyota vehicles, said: “Toyota Warranty’s unprecedented length and scope is founded on the world-famous quality, durability and reliability (QDR) of Toyota vehicles, renowned for delivering year after year of trouble-free motoring. Its design also makes it easy for the centre network to apply and manage. The service is designed to be simple and easy for the customer to understand and benefit from, true to Toyota’s customer-first approach to business.”
