Turkish Airlines has announced that it has enhanced operations for its Istanbul-Malta route in a bid to cater for an increase in demand.

The airline stated that it has increased the capacity for the route.

This forms part of the Türkiye flag carrier’s push to boost its wider operations by adding new destinations and fine tuning its existing ones to meet rising demand and also adjust to market conditions.

Presently, Turkish Airlines operates 14 weekly flights on this route.

The widebody aircraft will operate on flights numbered TK1369/70, four times per week, until 25th October 2024.

The airline stated that this strategic enhancement will not only increase capacity on the route, but it will also “provide the comfort and enhanced travel experience” of the widebody aircraft for the passengers travelling to and from Malta with the hospitality of Turkish Airlines.

Last year, Turkish Airlines celebrated 10 years since its very first flight from Istanbul to Malta. This was a notable event for local travellers, since Istanbul Airport, the airport where its hub is located, allows for connections to a number of non-European countries, such as those in North and South Africa, Asia, as well as North and South America, among others.

With the addition of Melbourne, Australia, back in March 2024, Turkish Airline’s network has expanded to six continents.
